Culd anyone pls tell me if the below statement is right or not?
" A Thorn has poken into my leg "
Hello Joes
No, that's not quite right – a thorn doesn't "poke". It "pricks something" or "gets stuck in something" or "sticks into something".
Do you want to try again?
MrP
Actually, I think a thorn could "poke".
But the present perfect tense of "A thorn is poking into my leg" is "A thorn has poked into my leg". The "-en" past participle is only used with well-defined old English verbs, of which "to poke" is not one. So you should use the regular form.
Poke:to poke someone in the ribs or leg...
so your sentence is: A thorn has poked me in the leg.
Thanks so much to all of u....
