HelloThere,
What are the differences between those 3 sentences,?![]()
1. Profit is increased....
2. Profit has increased....
3. Profit has been increased....
Thank You,
Warmest Regards,
-kahhong
1. <the indicative; it states a fact>
2. <the present perfect; meaning, from some unknown time in the past up until now, the present time. HINT: Add in "recently"![]()
3. "has been" is passive. Note, use the passive if the actor, the person or thing who/that initiates the event (i.e., 'increase') isn't important or is unknown. That is, who increased the profit? Do we know and/or is it even important?![]()
thank You,
![]()
Is it te same Profit is increased and profit increases?
Thank You,
Warmest Regards,
-kahhong
[1] Profit increases.
Simple Present Tense. "increases" functions as a verb. That is, the subject "Profit" does something, it acts.
[2] Profit is increased.
Simple Present Tense. "increased" functions as an adjective, not a verb. That is, "increased" describes the subject "Profit". The subject doesn't do or act. The main verb is "is".![]()
