As compared vs. compared
Hello,
Which sentence is correct? -
"Smith (1993) reported a lower accuracy of this procedure as compared to the Novak's procedure," or
"Smith (1993) reported a lower accuracy of this procedure compared to the Novak's procedure," or maybe
"Smith (1993) reported a lower accuracy of this procedure in comparison to the Novak's procedure."
Thanks in advance,
Nyggus

Re: As compared vs. compared
"Smith (1993) reported a lower accuracy of this procedure compared to the Novak's procedure,"
"Smith (1993) reported a lower accuracy of this procedure in comparison to the Novak's procedure."
These seem better, though I wouldn't use the article before Novak's, or would remove the possessive. here's how I would phrase them:
"Smith (1993) reported a lower degree of accuracy for this procedure compared to Novak's procedure," or maybe
"Smith (1993) reported a lower degree of accuracy for this procedure in comparison to the Novak procedure."
