Are these sentences OK?

3 Their plan was to wear T-shirts saying...

4 He looks the same as my brother when he was 10.
5 He looks the same as my brother did when he was 10.

1&3 sound better to me. 2 doesn't sork for me as the T-shirt might still have the slogan, but that isn't relevant.

4&5 Both are OK, but I prefer 5.
