Is the following sentences and pharases proper?

Now I am translating the chinese standard for testing the tempered glass lids into English,but I am not sure whether some of them are correct or conform to the logical ways of westners.I would apprecicate it if you could help me.

1."Horizontally place the tempered glass lid into the thermostat
with the concave side of it downward."
I want to express three meanings in the sentence.
a.place the lid into the thermostat.
b.The concave side of the lid is upward not downward when it is in the thermostat.
c.The lid is parallel to the floor when it is in the thermostat.
2.
The standard is set to guarantee the quality of the tempered glass lids and to increase the degrees of satisfaction of our customers.

Can i say "increase the degrees of satisfaction of our customers" .I use the phrase to express that we are drafting the standard to make customers more satisfactory with the glass lids.

You're very close. Try the following:

1. Place the tempered glass lid horizontally into the thermostat with the concave side downward.
2. to increase the satisfaction of our customers (you don't need to say "degree of"--it makes it unnecessarily long and sounds "translated"--but it's not wrong as long as you say "degree of," not "degrees of")
