Default pronunciation of the words "police" and "polite"?

Do native speakers also sometimes mispronounce the words "police" and "polite" in a way that sounds like "p'lice/pleece" and "plight", or is it only foreigners that do?

You'll often hear native speakers say 'pleece', but I wouldn't call it incorrect.
