"a franchise of" "I plan to make the tuck shop a franchise of the local burger mart."
What is the meaning of this sentence?

Re: "a franchise of" It means that the person wants to turn the shop into a burger bar. A franchise is when you buy the rights to use a name and system, like McDonalds, but run the business youself ans own it, paying fees to the franchiser. A tuck shop is like a sweet shop in a school.
