just as soon Is the phrase 'just as soon' a dated usage? Such as in:
"If she has to pick on someone, I'd just as soon it was me."
Any comment will be appreciated.

but your sentence seems forced to me...normally it's followed by a verb
f.e.
I'd just as soon play tennis
I'd just as soon go
I'd just as soon hear
