Default no credit was due her

Do they both sound natural?
She insisted that no credit was due her.
She insisted that no credit was due to her.
Again thanks for any comment.

Hello MadHorse

In my version of British English, only the second form sounds ok. But the first form may sound fine to other speakers.

Mr. P,

The source of the first sentence is the movie "All About Eve" (1950). I heard a character in it said so, which was confirmed by the subtitle, but to me seemed somewhat odd.
Thanks for your comment. I think I'll stick to the second one.

Hello MH

In that case, it may well be fine in American English!

Hello Mr.P
OK, but I'll stick to the second one, because it most probably suits both American and British ears. (Any objection from Americans?)
Thankfully,
MH
