I guess this means "to get angry", but I'm not sure.
Any synonyms for that??

In the 1960s and 1970s, "burning one's bra" was popularly considered to be a sign that a woman took her feminist convictions seriously.

Ok that makes perfect sense to me now.
One day while I was driving to my work I listened to the radio and there was a programme of some lady whose mother was caucasian and father afro-american.
At some point she mentioned that black women weren't feministically aware or something and said about her friends something like ´"They would burn their bras if...."
I wasn't able to fully concentrate in listening because I was driving at the same time but somehow that prase caught my ear.
So many thanks MrPedantic
There's an old joke about celibrity cook Fanny Craddock who (the story goes) decided to become a feminist. A journalist asked her if she was going to burn her bra, and she replied: "No, darling, I'm going to sauté it with a few onions."
Maybe she wanted to be a moderate one rather than extremist
