Default ic / ical adjectives

Hi...
My name is Carlos
Could you help with the rules in order to differentiate the use of adjectives ending at ic or ical, like classic and classical

These are differenciated by meaning rather than by form, so the answer is, I'm afraid, in the dictionary rather than a rule.
