Default "a" + Adjective + Proper Noun

Hello,

I met the sentence as follows:

A pale Lady Kennedy descended the wide stairs, leaning on her husband's arm.

I don't understand the reason behind the usage of an "a" before adjective + Proper Noun. I may add that she was not mentioned in the text for the first time. Can you explain please?

Ewelina

The pale Lady Kennedy . . .
<She is always pale; it's her known nature>

A pale Lady Kennedy . . .
<She was pale at the time; it's not her nature>

Thank you, Casiopeia. I figured as much, but I had to be sure.

In one of my previous entries I asked a very similar quiestion. It was about the sun and the moon:

Is it correct to precede the nouns "sun" and "moon" with the indefinite article in order to describe their looks at this particular moment?

...astrange-looking blue sun...
We all got scared and knew something would go wrong because for a few minutes we saw glimpses of abloody red moon.

Your answer was slightly different:

"sun" and "moon" are in the solar system.
[4] a strange-looking blue sun ~ a blue sun ~ a sun
[5] a bloody red moon ~ a red moon ~ a moon

So, it is not about the constant or temporary characteristics of the sun or the moon (from the earthly perspective)?

Please specify, Ewelina

We all got scared and knew something would go wrong because for a few minutes we saw glimpses of a bloody red moon.

=> The moon isn't usually bloody red or it's a moon (we haven't seen before) one that happens to be bloody red. All in all, we haven't seen X, with X being that particular color or that particular celestial body (color included).

Hope that helps.

Absolutely.

But is it really necessary to use either "a" or "the" before the Proper Noun like "Lady Kennedy"?

Normally, we don't use articles, but here it is used to suggest a temporary state of affairs.
