Broken English is more often used in speech rather than in writing.
Much is used with uncountable nouns e.g. I haven't much money
Many is used with countable nouns e.g. many cars; many people
You could write the sentence like this:
"I eat a lot of fruit such as apples, oranges, etc." or "I eat much fruit such as apples, oranges, etc."
Fruit is an uncountable noun. An alternative is to use "pieces" or "kinds" e.g. "I eat many kinds of fruit such as apples, bananas, and many more.."
Hope this helps![]()
In direct speech, you have to repeat the exact words spoken, so you have to use slang and informal language if that's what the person you are quoting said. Otherwise, you should use formal English only.
