Can we say "crutched at all the customers" to mean

Is this sentence trying to express about robbers pointing guns at customers?

The robbers went inside the shop and crutched at all the customers and pushed them against the wall.

The robbers went inside the shop and crutched at all the customers and pushed them against the wall.

That seems to have something missing. Perhaps:

• The robbers went inside the shop and yelled at all the customers, warning them to obey orders or they would get hurt. Then they forced them to line up against the wall.

I don't know what crutched is supposed to mean.
