Question "in two days"

If today were Monday, John said, "I will catch the plane in two days.", then when will John catch the plane? Wednesday? Thursday?

Also, what is the difference between "I will catch the plane in two days" and "I will catch the plane within two days".

Within two days- could be tomorrow or the day after- within establishes a limit
