Even if you..........enough money to buy that house, you..................for another one.

A) may have/ would buy

B) have had/ had better look

C) had/ should look

D) could have/ looked

E) have had/ would have looked

We have been discussing this question for a long time...

It is very kind of you to answer this question. I have been waiting for someone to do this for hours. Is it possible to explain why you chosen C. (I also said ''C'' as the correct answer. But, it will be better to have a native's explanation.

It's the only option with the correct sequence of tenses. All the others don't have a logical sequence- it's advice about a hypothetical situation.
