Hello,
Is the moral of Thurbers' The Owl Who Was God is a trandformation of a famous English saying? You can fool too many of the people too much of the time
What's more, do you know different way of interpreting this fable?
It could be seen as a criticism of the way people can follow any 'prophet' but I don'y manage to put it in the context of 1940s America.
Thank you!
It's modified from something Abraham Loncon said:
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
