 by + mode of transport I wonder whether it is possible to say 'I travelled by elephant/camel'? It may sound ridiculous to some people, but I think it is all right to say so if want to indicate the mode of transport I used. And the same goes for 'by Jeep/tractor'. Am I right in thinking? |

 Re: by + mode of transport If you (or your character, if you're writing a story) in fact rode a camel to your destination, then it is correct to say "I traveled by camel." |

| Re: by + mode of transport That's right - I was thinking of my character who travelled in Saudi Arabia by camel, and then in the deep forests in India, by elephant. Finally by jeep in the Gobi Desert. Thank you. |
