Question learning grammer

Hi
I think learning grammer is very useful in especially writing. Casiopea in answering to Limarymary , suggested studying books . Ofcourse in Iran there are some grammer books like " grammer in use " in differrent levels. in this books one page teach a grammer rule and opposite page some exercises . but you know what grammer rule you should use in this exercises .
So which kind of books do you suggest ?
Thanks alot.

I like Michael Swan's 'Practical English Usage', which covers both basic grammar and the tricky questions of usage.
