Default WAGES WERE PEANUTS and PREPOSITIONS

Hello to everybody! How is it going?. First of all, thanks to everyone for helping me with my English. Thanks indeed!. And now, one question again:

1.- I wanna say that "wages were poor and now they are too".

Would it be like this?

a.- Wages were peanuts and they still are the same.
b.- Wages were peanuts and they are still (But I need
something, not?)

Any of these sentences is right?

Maybe there´s a way in English to say that expression:

I mean, more or less as I tried to say in the sentence before, that something, for instance, happened but it´s
still happening at present, it was but it is now as well...

2.- Well, this is really methaporical. "My heart lives "in" yours".
But I wanna know if I used the correct preposition.

Thanks in advance!

Jesús
