Default sir

how can I find out if a world is countable or uncountable. Sometimes it's obvious but sometimes it's not. Example: Information, data ..... In some foreign languages these words ARE countable.

Thank you in advance,

Isaac

It's not always logical. With the examples you give, 'information' is always uncountable, and 'data' usually is, but in technical areas, you will see datum (singular) and data (plural) used, so even with a very similar meaning, they can behave differently. I'm afraid that when unsure, the answer is in the dictionary.
