More on comprehension

Dear teachers,

I have kept on thinking of the sentence "......nothing could have seemed more beyond possibility or doubt" in "It was for two thousand years ' taken for granted" as "obvious" that a heavy weight must fall faster than a light one. An assumed or dogmatic proposition which had benn universally accepted as " obvious"; and which, when challenged, was supported by reference to a dogma of Aristotle. Unitl Galileo actually demanstrated the contrary, nothing could have seemed more beyond possibility or doubt"

And I think queenbu threw light on it when she asked "Before I write anything else, I want to ask you something,Jiang.Are you sure it's 'beyond possibility or doubt' and NOT 'beyond possibility of doubt'???" . If it is the latter then it makes sente. Is that right?

'Possibility of doubt' does make sense- it implies that it was utterly unquestionable.
