Question Low

Hi,

Would you please tell me the meaning of 'low' in the following sentence:

'Sometime ago he seemed very 'low',I didn't see the point. Now he seems like a different person. He's friendlier and his life is no longer focused on his work'

Does 'low' here mean 'sad and depressed', or 'mean' or 'unsociable' or something else?

Thank you

Hello Nathalie8

It's very difficult to tell without more context; but it seems most likely that it means "low in spirits", "depressed", "miserable".

Bye
