help with phrases

Greetings,
what are the phrases to express the idea or feeling that one man or one number can not reach a certain standard? Just like your buddy thinks he'll earn 20 and you think it at most can be 15.Is it "nothing close to" or "not..anywhere to" or "nowhere near" etc.?
Can you kindly list the phrases that have this meaning and,if possible,explain the usage?
I'd appreciate it truly.

One phrase is "I don't think he's up to it", e.g.

1. What, him? Earn $20 per hour? Frankly, I don't think he's up to it.

Other members may be able to think of other phrases!

Friend "I'm going to make 20"
You "You'll be lucky- you'll get nowhere near that much."

And here's one with "anything close to":

1. Well, he may earn $10, if he's lucky; but he won't earn anything close to $30!"

And "nothing close to":

2. The temperatures this April are nothing close to what you'd expect for this time of year.
