    Default be done with

    We are done with hope and honor;
    We are lost to love and truth;
    We are dropping down the ladder rung by rung;
    And the measure of our torment,
    Is the measure of our youth;
    God help us for we knew the worst too young.

    Hello all,

    From the above context, pls help me explain if...

    1) be done with = get tired of? we have no hope?
    2) be lost to = defeat? like love won us? lost here is adj or pp of "lose"?

    tks,

    1 We have finished with them (no longer believe in them)
    2 It's an adjective, and means, again, that thse words mean nothing to them
