Thumbs down countable or not?

Is the word "advice" countable or uncountable? Is there a way to find out whether a word is countable or not?

Default Re: countable or not?

we use "advice" as an uncountable noun.

Example A: I need your advice.
Example B: I need a piece of advice from you.

the phrase "a piece of" is useful with uncountable nouns such as "a piece of information" and "a piece of news."
