According to Wikipedia, "Chicagoans". While surfing the Net you'll find both "Chicagoites" and "Chicagoers".

The majority of folks living in that area refer to themselves as "Chicagoans."

The names residents choose for themselves occasionally come into dispute, for some reason. Just as Wikipedia lists alternatives for "Chicagoans" (which has been the traditional name for many years), my home state of Michigan has come under similar fire in recent years. We've always been referred to as "Michiganders", but someone decided a few years ago that that sounded too much like a flock of geese, and started promoting the idea of "Michiganians."

Thanks a lot for your helpful reply. Is there somewhere I can find some complete information about the inhabitants of all the cities in the USA?
