Hello everyone!
Which do you use 'traffic jam', 'snarl-up' or something else?
This month one of my students went to the USA and said that she had problems with communication as nobody understood the phrase 'traffic jam'. And she didn't know any synonyms and wasn't able to explain it in other words.
Thank you in advance
Anna
I live in the midwestern USA and we use the phrase "traffic jam" all the time.
Thank you! Now I am relieved as I've been teaching the phrase to my students for years![]()
You see, I was puzzled when my student told me about non-usage.
She was sad and embarrassed because of it. I guess she didn't get the idea of that conversation
Thanks a lot again!![]()
Glad to have been of help!
(If we didn't have the phrase "traffic jam", I'd never have a good excuse for being late for work!)
:) It's my favourite excuse!
