Default I am 43 years old vs. I have 43 years

Hi,

I would like to know if both of the above phrases are correct.

Thank you for helping me,

No. If you are referring to your age, you would simply say "I am 43 years old."

Yes, I am referring to my age. So the second option is absolutely wrong?

Perhaps it's different elsewhere, but in the US if you are revealing your age to someone, you would say "I am 43 years old." You would never say "I have 43 years." That response would get you nothing but a blank, uncomprehending look.

The only instance where one would say "I have 43 years" would be to respond to a question similar to: "How long have you worked with welding tools?" "I have 43 years experience in the field."
