Hello,

Can I say I haven't heard from you for 'quite' a while? What does quite mean in this sentence and what does quite mean in gerneal?

Thanks a lot

Default Re: Quite a while

Welcome, Jiovanni.

"quite" means, really, very; e.g., It's quite cold outside, today; Her hair is quite long; They can be quite lazy.

"quite a while" means, (for) a long time; e.g., I haven't seen them in quite a while; She's been reading for quite a while.
