Default Commas-Periodic-Loose sentences

Where should commas go in these sentences, if they need them.

1. My brother George who was elected as mayor has many plans for improving our city.

2. All mayors who are seeking reelection should prove themseleves worthy.

3. All teams defeated more than six times must drop out of the competition.

4. Our hometown team defeated only once went on to the championship.

5. John Anderson whom you chose as your roomate in college is a good student.

Which one is a periodic and/or loose sentence?

1. When all the votes were counted, we saw that John Smith had won.

2. Having finished my term paper, I turned it in to the professor.

3. You may go whenever you wish.

Quote:

Place your commas after George and mayor. (You don't need as there.)

Quote:
4. Our hometown team defeated only once went on to the championship.
Say:
  • Our hometown team, which had been defeated only once, went on to the championship.

Quote:
5. John Anderson whom you chose as your roomate in college is a good student.
Place your commas after Anderson and college.

Sentences 1 and 2 are periodic sentences.
