If you use English to communicate with English-speaking people, then you probably wouldn't mention having babies, even if it was something you kindly wished for your friends.
If English is the language you use to communicate with people from a different cultural background, that's a horse of a different color: for instance, in France, it would be irrelevant to wish people they will soon have a son

, but for many (truly) Mediterranean cultures, having a son as a first-born is still something many want.
Here we say "Little children, little trouble"...
