Please give appropriate suggestion to use the following sentences.
1. None of my friends lives in America. Or None of my friend live in America.
2. How do you look like? Or what do you look like? Or Whom do you resemble?
Your suggestions will be highly appreciable.
Hello Bash
For #1 you can say:
1a. None of my friends lives in America.
1b. None of my friends live in America.
Some native speakers dislike the use of a plural verb with "none", as in 1b. However, in some kinds of English – British, for instance – it's very common.
For #2, these are correct:
2a. What do you look like?
2b. Whom do you resemble?
There is a difference, though: 2a means "what thing do you look like?", whereas 2b means "what person do you look like?".
MrP
PS: Rather than "Your suggestions will be highly appreciable", you would say "Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated".
