I Want to know the difference between "persuade, advise, and convince"! How to use them in different context?

I prefer to stick to the traditional distinction:"Persuade" is associated with action {He persuaded me to buy a new car}. "Convince" is associated with beliefs or understandings {The defendant convinced me of his innocence}. Persuade to, convince of, convince/persuade that.
But do check out dictionary.com as Casiopia suggested.
Agreed. Initiative is paramount.![]()
