    Question short form

    sorry for asking this, but I've gotta write an assignment...
    what's the short form of microphone?
    mic or mike?

    Both forms are used, but folks who work in any industry that regularly uses microphones tend to use "mic" as the short form. "Mic" is still pronounced "mike," though.
