| There has to be a way out of here. I did'nt have enough time to finish the project. He did'nt have enough time to finish the project. She didn't have... They didn't have... There wasn't enough time to finish the project. Also, with the verb BE (is, was, are, were), EX: There weren't enough people to help out. <plural subject, plural verb> But never, There have to be ways out of here. <plural subject, plural verb> "have" doesn't work like BE. Spelling Help didn't, not did'nt wasn't, not was'nt. Note that, the apostrophe (') replaces a vowel: didnot => did n't wasnot => wasn't All the best. |

| Thanks I haven't really thought about the apostrophe as being a replacer to a vowel. Now it all makes sense. |
