Default two words

My first question is: all the idioms you have in this website, can I find a book with the same idioms. Second question is: sometimes when I am reading articles or news in the internet, I come upon two words that are combined but have one meaning, e.g. put off, better off, take on. Do you know what these kind of words are called and is there a book specifically talks about these words. Thanks in advance.

About idioms, have you tried searching on-line? There are numerous free sites. If you've a specfic question about idioms let us know.

"put off" and "take on" are called phrasal verbs. Again, there are a great deal of sites on-line to choose from. If you've a specific question about phrasal verbs, we'd be more than happy to help you out.

All the best.

They're called phrasal verbs. Try here:

There are dictionaries of both in book form. Cambridge do good ones.
