hello my name is maglia and I find it real difficult to analays sentences I have some problems with this one: After they have been talking for about ten minutes. I do understand that they is my subject and have been talking is a complex finite verb phrase where have is my primary verb and what is been and talking? and for about ten minutes?

I think that you do not have to narrow everything down, because that is the way it is. Pretty straightforward. There is no grammar in this world; grammar is just something that helps someone to easily understand or memorize something we should know about English Language.

e.g. I have been talking for 2 hours straight now and I need to take a break.

Note, with "after", shouldn't "have been" be had been?
