    Question periods

    Hello
    Can you please tell me whether it is correct when linking an acronym to another word by hyphen, that the last period of the acronym be omitted; viz: J.A.W-Gulf?

    Abbreviations don't omitted it:

    EX: foot-pound, ft.-lb.
