Default need your advice

I've learn many idiomatic expressions , but sometimes when I was going to talk with people , I couldn't even think of one of those expressions, and I didn't know what to say.

Could you give me some advice on what topics to talk about and how to start a conversation and keep it going .

I appreciate it.

It really depends on the situation. Most people advise to get the other person talking about themselves, though not too personally, on the grounds that we all love ourselves.

Well, you can always talk about the weather, but that doesn't keep a conversation going for very long.
