Hi,
This is a simple question that bothers me a lot: should it be “using of” or “of” should be omitted? For instance, “Using of the knife may be a pleasure and a curse.”
Thanks,

Hi!!!
I think "of" should be omitted here: Using the/a knife may be a pleasure and a curse.
We put "of" after use:
1. I have the use of the car once a week(permission)
2. New uses of words
3. Sb's use of a name:e.g.: The police have been hampered by Mr. White's use of bogus names.![]()
