    is maths very useful for english learning students?

    A knowledge of maths is useful if you wish to study linguistics, as it will help you to avoid mistakes in statistical analysis.

    More generally, I would recommend the study of maths and logic to any student of English: they will help you to recognize bad sense in English, if not bad grammar!
