    Question Comparing

    Hi,
“An interesting result was obtained when comparing the two procedures studied.”
    Is this sentence correct?

    Thanks ,

Is it 'procedures studied' that has you curious, or is it that 'interesting' is too vague, or that 'was obtained' is passive', or whether you should use while instead of 'when'?

Casiopea, do you mean that I should be "curious" about all of them ?! In fact, I was curious about "comparing"! And, indeed, I am not sure of this 'when' versus 'while', and 'whereas' versus 'while' (not considered in the sentence). Could you help me with this?

    Best,

Thanks - clear. And what about 'comparing' in the above sentence and 'whereas' vs. 'while'?

Well, what about 'comparing'? Was there a specific question you had?

My specific question is whether it is a correct structure with the use of comparing. Is it?

    Thanks,
