Sometimes ' present continuous' can be used for the future, for example,
like the sentence "I am going home". But I am a little confused of distinguishing 'present continuous' from 'future.' Do you have any idea of this?
1 Present continuous tense is used to express an intend in future, that we have planed.
ex: I'm going to see you on Sunday (i'm sure i will come)
2. But Future simple tense express an action might/can happen in future.
ex: I will be an English teacher. (I want to be a teacher but maybe I will not be a teacher, i'm not sure)

We use it when we have made the arrangements:
I'm seeing the dentist next Tuesday = I have made the appointment.
