If you are writing a formal document should you say:
ON June 12, 2006, we took a test about grammar.
OR
June 12, 2006, we took a test about grammar.
I know it seems insignificant, but what is truly the "correct" way?
You can try: We took a grammar test on June 12. Or: On June 12, we took a grammar test. You could also use We had a grammar test on June 12.
Formally, I would put the preposition in.
