Here's a simple activity for speaking practice. Have the students place their pens in a bag. Take out a pen and show it to the class. The first student to correctly identify the pen's owner wins the pen! If you've all male or all female students, show them pictures of people (from newspapers or magazines) and an array of items the people might own; e.g., fruits, books, odds and ends. Take an item from the bag and have the students correctly identify the owner, using "It's his/her/their ____." The student who correctly identifies the owner, wins the item. Note, you need not prepare the students ahead of time. Part of the fun of the game is to have students think about which items belong to which people; say, for example, a banana might belong to a monkey; "It's its banana!" You can also use items that belong to the classroom, say, a desk: "It's our desk!"
