    Please help; thank you.
    He will be out this afternoon for a site inspection and photo-taking (photo-taken).

    photo-taking is a noun, which means that the whole word means the act of having a picture of yourself in a camera.

    photo-taken is not a noun, it does not describe the action of having a picture in a camera.

    you have a picture taken of you, but photo-taking is an action of taking pictures.
