I'd be very grateful if you could explain (or say in other words) the phrases in inverted commas in the following passage about teaching Greek dances:
Exercises of flexibility and agility of trunk executing rotations of trunk and side crunches while standing straight, "crunches in supine sprawl", "dorsal crunches in lying sprawl" and thorax extensions, so that they acquire right attitude of body.
"crunches in supine sprawl"
Person is lying on his back, then brings his knees upwards while simultaneously lifting up the head and shoulders. The knees meet the chin and that is considered a "crunch."
"dorsal crunches in lying sprawl"
Person is lying on his stomach, face down. He simultaneously raises his legs and his upper body, sort of forming a "U" shape.
Thank you very much for this detailed answer.I perfectly understood your explanations. Could you please explain also :Exercises for flexibility and agility of "trunk executing rotations of trunk and side crunches" while standing straight.
trunk executing rotations of trunk and side crunches" while standing straight.
While standing upright, person first turns slowly (usually with hands on hips) to the right as far as he can, then slowly turns all the way to the left. Only the upper portion of his body turns - he keeps his feet, legs and hips still and pointing forward at all times.
Next, again usually with hands on hips, person keeps both feet on the ground and legs and hips straight. He then leans sideways to the left, as far as he can while keeping both feet on the floor, so that his left ear is parallel to the floor. He returns to a staight-up standing position, then leans the same way to the right.
Both of the above exercises are designed to increase the flexibility of the spine.![]()
Thank you very much again. Words just fail me to express my gratitude. This was of great help for me. Now if you have time will you please say in other words:"exercises of leg lifting, seatings, leg jumping"
