Post try to do sth. and try sth. doing

hello.
I'm a chinese student ,I have a question want to ask you .
I hope you can first time to talk me this answer.
thinks a lot.
What's the difference between "try to do sth."and "try doing sth."

thinks age.

Often they are used with the same meaning.

Try to do often means attempt: Have you ever tried to ski (attempted the sport)?
Try doing often means experience: Have you ever tried skiiing (experienced it)?

This question has come up before, and I suspect that you may receive further enlightenment.
