i dont understand

hi...i am taking english, however i dont understand it says identify the mistake.. well thats easy and then it says to explain why the learner has made that mistake?.. for example:

she said me she had tickets for the concert.

the mistake here is " said " i know but how to explain it..i dont know how to

I think that's the right way of saying.

There should be the preposition "to" after "said"[ She said to me] or you have to change the verb this way :She told me she had....
